Why this is a favorite of mine...
While in Cataloochee Valley to photograph the elk, I turned to look behind me to see the sun and fog engulf this tree. I hurried and got my landscape lens to capture this scene. Within minutes it looked entirely different. A reminder to not focus so much on what's in front when the real shot might not be the obvious one.
This tree seemed to come alive with the golden glow of Autumn in the morning sun and fog in the Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains.
