Clingmans Dome Sunrise Great Smoky Mountains National Park
When I arrived at Clingmans Dome the temperature was 28° and the wind was fierce and strong making it hard to even stand. The clouds and fog were whipping all around and spilling over the mountains and down into the valley. As the sun was rising off to my right, I watched these clouds billowing and swirling reminding me of smoke from a witches cauldron. The smoke was illuminated by the rising sun adding to the scene. I was frozen and chilled to the bone, but it was so worth it to witness the beauty and power of nature and to be reminded why these are called the Great Smoky Mountains.
