Mom with 4 cubs ---June 2009
This Black Bear Sow had 4 little ones. Yes, 4. She came out into a field but stayed close to the edge of the woods. I was able to get about 75 yards from her to photograph the family when she was spooked in to the woods. I saw the family once more that year. I feel very fortunate to have seen them. 3 cubs is not that unusual, but 4 seems to be.
