Why this is a favorite of mine...
A lot of the deer are given names by some of the regular photographers. It helps with telling others where certain bucks have been seen. This is "Petey". He is probably the most photographed Buck in the Smokies. He is majestic and seems to enjoy posing for photographers. He was a 10 pointer in 2012 and an 8 pointer in 2013. There was concern that he might not have survived the Winter before 2013, but he did finally make his appearance in the Fall. Sadly, Petey won't be with us much longer as he is about 8 years old and at the end of the life expectancy of a white tailed deer. Here's hoping we have him for at least one more year.
